ABN Amro partners with Techstars to create start-up accelerator
ABN Amro has agreed to a three-year partnership with investment and innovation firm Techstars to support new start-ups in the industry.
The collaboration will connect ABN Amro with Techstars’ global network. They will create a “mentorship-driven accelerator program” to recruit and support promising start-up firms.
Keith Camhi, senior vice president of accelerators, Techstars, says fintech underpins “so much of what we do”.
He adds that partnering with ABN Amro allows his firm to help entrepreneurs develop “solutions that enhance lives”.
Start-ups that join the programme will work closely with Techstars and its mentor network. ABN Amro’s corporate innovation team, subject matter experts, and network of clients will also get involved.
Edwin van Bommel, chief innovation officer at ABN Amro, says that the start-up ecosystem is “crucial” for the bank.
“Our aim is to be at the forefront of innovation in relevant ecosystems, supporting start-ups to become leaders in their field and allowing us to build out our leading position in innovation.
“Partnering with a leading accelerator like Techstars allows us to find and connect with the best start-ups in the global ecosystem.”
