Metro Bank signs tech partnership deal with Wipro
Metro Bank has picked Wipro for a multi-year contract to “transform” the bank’s testing and environment management services.
Wipro will deliver automation, service virtualisation and DevSecOps enablement at Metro Bank. The vendor believes this helps Metro Bank “achieve its objectives around cost, pace and quality of operations.”
The firm is installing its Virtual Automation Engineer, IntelliAssureTM and Digital Rig services. Wipro is also set as a preferred partner for business IT services at Metro Bank.
“We are excited to partner with Wipro on this journey towards transforming our business,” says Cheryl McCuaig, chief information officer at Metro Bank.
“We look forward to a successful partnership that delivers value to both organisations and enables us to achieve our goal of improving the quality, velocity and efficiency of our IT delivery.”
Omkar Nisal, senior vice president and head of banking for EMEA, says the firm looks forward to “delivering an ambitious programme.”
Earlier this month Metro Bank hired Richard Lees as its incoming chief risk officer (CRO).
Lees joins Metro Bank from the Co-operative Bank, where he also held the role of chief risk officer. He joined his current employer back in May 2016 as a credit risk director.
