HSBC and Microsoft Hong Kong have announced a partnership which focuses on aiding Hong Kong’s small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The year-long collaboration sees Microsoft Hong Kong provide cloud solutions and technical training to HSBC SME customers.
The Teach Me Up programme covers three areas. These are hardware and software enablement, technology sharing, and digital platform integration.
HSBC and Microsoft will run a series of joint webinars for SMEs to boost their “business knowledge”. Microsoft’s applications will also be integrated into HSBC’s service platform.
“With the COVID-19 outbreak, Hong Kong businesses rapidly adopted remote working to maintain business continuity,” says Cally Chan, general manager of Microsoft Hong Kong.
“SMEs face challenges such as lack of laptop devices and business operation systems are mostly on premises, making it difficult to switch to remote working promptly.”
Chan adds that the collaboration will see both companies support Hong Kong SMEs “address their urgent needs”.
Part of the collaboration includes free access to Office 365 for HSBC Commercial Banking customers.
“SMEs are the lifeblood of Hong Kong’s economy and the pipeline that will deliver the territory’s future success,” says Daniel Chain, head of business banking, commercial banking for HSBC Hong Kong.
