Barclays snaps up JP Morgan’s head of ECM Europe
Barclays investment bank division has hired JP Morgan’s Manuel Esteve as the head of its equity capital markets (ECM) in Europe.
Esteve has been a managing director at JP Morgan’s ECM for the last 18 years.
He will join Barclays on 1 September.
Esteve will be based in London. He will report to Tom Johnson, Barclays head of ECM for Europe Middle East and Africa.
“Our European ECM franchise continues to grow strongly and Manuel’s experience and impressive track record will help accelerate this growth, with a focus on clients in Continental Europe,” says Johnson.
Prior to his long stint at JP Morgan, Esteve worked as a vice president at Merrill Lynch for three years.
Before his time at Merrill Lynch, he spent three years working as an associate at Goldman Sachs.
