Bank of Baroda credit card subsidiary picks Fiserv’s FirstVision
Bank of Baroda’s credit card division has selected Fiserv and its FirstVision system.
BOB Financial Solutions Limited (BFSL) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the bank. It plans to offer a new range of contactless credit cards, branded wallets, and virtual accounts.
It will deploy FirstVision on an outsourced software-as-a-service plan, with the solution hosted locally in India.
“Delivering robust, secure products and a superior experience to our customers is our priority,” says Shailendra Singh, CEO at BFSL.
“The scalable, integrated technology provided by Fiserv will allow us to deliver the experiences our customers expect now and into the future.”
Formed in 1994 as Bobcards, BFSL is a non-banking financial company operated by Bank of Baroda (BOB).
BOB is the third-largest public sector bank in India, with 131 million customers and $170 billion in assets.
Fiserv claims that the service-oriented architecture and open APIs of FirstVision “facilitate rapid application development.”
Ivo Distelbrink, executive vice president and head of Asia Pacific at Fiserv, says that BFSL can “reimagine customer journeys and launch to market with speed.”
