Thailand-based paytech, Synqa, has raised $80 million in a Series C funding round led by SCB 10X and Sparx Group.
Participants in the round included Toyota Financial Services, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, SMBC Venture Capital, and others.
The firm plans to use its fresh capital to enhance its enterprise solutions in Asia.
According to a statement, the company is set to pump more funding into its Omise gateway to “add more capabilities to their services and technology stack.”
“I’m very excited to announce this funding round and new partnerships,” says Jun Hasegawa, founder and CEO of Synqa.
“Despite these challenging times, I see a lot of opportunities in accelerating digital payments and digital transformation for enterprises.
“This funding will accelerate the development of quality products and services by our subsidiaries to better connect people, businesses and society.”
Synqa, founded in 2015 as Omise Holdings, operates as a payment gateway for acceptance, cross-border remittances, and blockchain-based transfers.
