Colt to underpin connectivity at Taiwan’s major exchanges
Colt Technology Services has announced that it will be providing full hosting for three Taiwanese exchanges in the wake of the Taiwan government’s introduction of continuous trading.
The Taiwan Stock Exchange Corporation (TWSE), Taiwan Futures Exchange (Taifex) and the Taipei Exchange (TPEx) are underpinned by Colt infrastructure.
Colt is providing server rack space, hardware hosting, connectivity and market data in both raw and normalised formats.
TWSE announced the implementation of continuous trading from 23 March 2020 in an attempt to attract more customers and traffic to the country’s markets.
A day following the launch of the new system, day-only limit orders made up 96% of the 13.41 million placed on the exchange, indicating that it may take some time for traders to warm up to the new regime.
“Colt continues to evolve our business based on the financial industry’s requirements,” says Masato Hoshino, head of Asia and representative director and president at Colt.
“After the announcement from TWSE, we expect to see increased business opportunities, and we are confident our capability will be beneficial to our customers.”
Colt is the only foreign licensed market data vendor and Network Service Provider (NSP) in Taiwan.
