NatWest CDO Frans Woelders set for Danske Bank move
NatWest chief digital officer Frans Woelders is leaving the UK institution to join Danske Bank as new chief operating officer.
“What great outcomes have we achieved for our customers and the bank,” Woelders wrote in a farewell post on LinkedIn.
“We have grown digital sales and digital sales mix to an all-time high and our mobile active customers have grown to over seven million now.”
Royal Bank of Scotland announced last month that it would be officially changing its name to NatWest Group, sunsetting a brand with a 300-year history.
The new name comes into full effect later in 2020. The bank said in a statement to its investors that it was “the right time to align the parent name with the brand under which the great majority of our business is delivered.”
Woelders is due to step into his new role at Danske on 1 April 2020. He has spent just under two years at NatWest, having joined after a 20-year stint at Dutch bank ABN Amro.
While at ABN Amro Woelders worked alongside new Danske CEO Chris Vogelzang.
