Verrency appoints former Westpac Group CTO to advisory board
Australian fintech platform, Verrency, has appointed senior banker and technologist, Robert Wilson, to its global advisory board.
Wilson recently retired as group chief technology officer of Westpac and has had a career of more than 30 years with international experience in several financial services and technology institutions.
“Verrency has been on my radar since its inception because it addresses a significant underlying banking industry problem – namely, that it is challenging to connect, build and launch differentiated consumer and small business value-added services quickly and securely without migrating away from decades of legacy payment systems,” says Wilson.
Prior to joining Westpac, Wilson worked with SAP in a global banking role with a special focus on core banking, payments and digital, and before that he ran a fintech start-up backed by Swiss Re & McKinsey, supporting innovation in digital credit management and securitisation. Prior to this, Wilson spent 11 years working in Europe, Asia and the US with ABN Amro.
