Trustly serves Alibaba’s European customers via Ingenico
Online banking payments company, Trustly, announced its partnership with B2B e-commerce platform Alibaba.com.
Trustly’s partner, Ingenico, a global payments leader, enables Trustly’s payment solution to Alibaba, which will provide an additional payment method for the website’s European buyers.
The website currently serves more than ten million buyers in more than 190 countries and regions, but initially the payment solution will serve 16 European markets, including the UK, Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.
The solution will tackle Europe’s growing demand for paying directly from a bank account, as opposed to assuming credit.
“Alibaba.com is a force to be reckoned with in e-commerce and we are truly delighted to be one of its chosen bank payment providers for its European customers,” says Trustly CEO, Oscar Berglund. “Through Ingenico, we can help Alibaba.com offer a localised payment mix, which is crucial for converting new customers and improving loyalty and satisfaction among existing ones.”
Ingenico has also been in the news for its partnership with Yoozoo Games, the distributor of Game of Thrones Winter is Coming. Through Ingenico Connect, Yoozoo can offer a wider range of alternative payment methods, crucial for gaming companies who target young digital consumers.
