National Bank of Canada chooses CGI’s All Payments platform
National Bank of Canada (NBC) has chosen CGI‘s All Payments (APS) as its payments hub solution as it gears up to adopt Payments Canada regulatory changes, reports Jane Connolly.
The bank is modernising its payment ecosystem with a view to increasing its straight-through processing (STP) and achieving operational efficiencies. NBC will also be able to take advantage of greater agility following the implementation of the platform.
“Implementing APS will significantly contribute to our payments modernisation programme and will help us make a positive impact on our customers and partners,” says David Bergeron, senior manager of treasury and payments solutions at NBC. “The technologies we are implementing deliver the scalability to support future growth and the flexibility to adopt future payments innovations.”
Michael Godin, senior vice-president, Greater Montréal, CGI, adds: “CGI’s partnership in modernising National Bank of Canada’s payments systems is based on more than 40 years of experience supporting national payment infrastructures in 20 countries around the world.”
By consolidating payments onto APS, the bank will have access to a continuous view of liquidity across all clearings and consolidated payment transactions data.
