Insurtech Cover Genius forms ‘first of a kind’ partnership with ShipStation
E-commerce insurance provider Cover Genius has partnered with ShipStation to bring insurance offerings to the web-based shipping software provider’s merchant customers in the UK, Canada and Australia.
With other countries soon to follow, ShipStation says there is a demand to protect its merchants against loss, damage and item re-shipment.
The “first of its kind” exclusive partnership will allow merchants to adhere to a standardised policy and claims process, replacing wait times of up to 30 days to make a claim with an instant, automated service.
Traditionally, long wait times meant delayed deliveries, hence putting an uncontrollable strain on the merchant-customer relationship. Now this pain point is being solved for sellers in some of the biggest e-commerce markets.
ShipStation’s general manager John Kinny says the insurance provider’s protection across various countries and currencies is “critical” to their planned expansion into new markets.
The hope is that the new instant automaton will give ShipStation a customer-centric edge, following the popular customer experience trend fuelling the majority of fintech innovation at the moment.
The Texas-headquartered e-shipment provider boasts clients such as FedEx, UPS, Amazon, Shopify and BigCommerce.
