Suncorp welcomes its digital incubator winners Eggy and Paypa Plane
Suncorp’s inaugural Digital Incubator Program has closed its doors with two winners, Eggy and Paypa Plane.
The result of this incubator will see them work with Suncorp in its Brisbane Digital Labs to develop a business idea and bring it to life.
As for the winners, Eggy is a life admin app for consumers. The app manages, stores and retrieves life admin documents, and can automatically add information to the user’s calendar.
Paypa Plane calls itself “the future of recurring payments”. Paypa Plane links customer accounts and business accounts through a payment request and agreement flow. It manages recurring payments for small businesses and reduces friction in the customer relationship.
The winners were announced at an event with Kate Jones MP, Minister for Innovation and Tourism Industry Development.
Applications for the 90-day program opened in May, with local fintech and insurtech start-ups being offered the opportunity to test and validate their ideas. The selection process started with more than 50 starts-ups applying for the opportunity to participate.
Suncorp’s chief information officer, Sarah Harland, says that the Digital Incubator Program is a great platform to bring together some of the best and brightest minds in fintech.
“I’m thrilled that we are working with some truly brilliant businesses to foster innovation in Queensland and within our industry. I’m keen to see how these two winning concepts develop over the coming months,” says Harland. “I would like to thank the seven finalists for their exceptional entries, and to congratulate the winners.”
