Isbank partners Yandex.Checkout to support trade between Turkey and Russia
Turkey’s Isbank has teamed up with Yandex.Checkout, Russia’s leading payment service provider, to facilitate easy transactions between the two countries, reports Jane Connolly.
The agreement enables Isbank to accept payments via Sberbank Online, Alfabank and Yandex.Money e-wallets. This is in addition to the already accepted Visa, Mastercard, Amex, UnionPay, JCB card brands and 34 local payment methods used in more than 50 countries.
Last month, Isbank announced its cooperation with Russian national card scheme, MIR.
“We put a special emphasis on physical and e-commerce cross border transactions,” says Isbank’s deputy CEO, Yalçin Sezen. “We enrich our payment gateway by adding new methods. To improve trade relations between Russia and Turkey, we have done our part by making cooperation with Yandex.Checkout.”
He adds: “In this way, we have facilitated the collections of our airlines, tourism agencies and online retailers. We are going to increase the variety of our products and services and we’re going to support our merchants who are targeting different geographies.”
Ivan Glazachev, Yandex.Money CEO, states: “It’s important for us to provide Russian customers with the opportunity to pay for purchases in a convenient and safe manner on Turkish e-commerce platforms and online stores.”
Isbank says it will now reach 92 million Sberbank and 16.1 million Alfabank clients, along with 46 million Yandex Money users.
