Banque du Caire goes live with Temenos Infinity
Egypt’s Banque du Caire has taken a step forward on its digital transformation journey by implementing the Temenos Infinity omni-channel banking solution, reports Jane Connolly.
This first stage implements digital channels servicing corporate and retail customers, to be followed in a second phase by the Temenos Infinity real time marketing, digital engagement and digital analytics modules.
The solution will enable the 225-branch bank to achieve better product agility, take services to market quicker and cut the costs of deployment.
Temenos Infinity was implemented through APIs as an independent front office platform on the bank’s existing third-party core banking platform. Banque du Caire has also chosen the cloud-native, cloud-agnostic Temenos T24 Transact as part of the bank’s core banking system overhaul.
“The implementation of Temenos Infinity was on-time and on-budget,” says the executive vice chairman at Banque du Caire, Amr El Shafei. “Using Temenos Infinity, with its API-first technology, we will dramatically enhance our customers’ experience by leveraging emerging digital technologies and taking new innovative products and differentiated services to market rapidly.”
He adds: “We selected Temenos’ integrated, packaged and open banking software for our front and back office as this will enable us to transform faster, drive out complexity and drastically lower our overall total cost of ownership.”
Jean-Paul Mergeai, managing director Middle East and Africa, Temenos, says: “Egypt is embracing the digital revolution and we see banks of all sizes embarking on digital transformation projects.”
Banque du Caire is one of Egypt’s largest state-owned banks, serving 2.9 million customers.
