Oracle FSS wins over Senegal Post Bank
EXCLUSIVE: Senegal Post Bank, the banking arm of La Poste du Sénégal, is understood to have selected Oracle FSS for its core banking, digital banking and payments, writes Martin Whybrow.
In its latest financial results, Oracle FSS referred to a project in Senegal without naming the organisation. It said: “an established financial institution from Senegal has chosen to implement Oracle’s core banking, digital banking and payments software solutions”.
Traditional core system suppliers in Senegal have been the French pair of Delta Informatique and SAB – both of which are now owned by Sopra Steria (and its Sopra Banking Software subsidiary), yet another French company. French supplier, Viveo, which was acquired by Temenos in 2010, also had a handful of sites in the country, but few of the users of this supplier’s banking platforms moved to T24.
Banque Regionale de Marches and Ecobank have also been Flexcube takers in the country as part of a pan-African roll-out.
Oracle FSS did not respond to a request for comment.
Recently, the vendor signed another African bank – Nigeria’s Titan Trust Bank – for its core and digital banking tech.
