Cointree and Gobbill partnership offer Aussies crypto bill-paying service
Australians can now pay everyday bills with more than 100 cryptocurrencies, thanks to a partnership between Cointree and Gobbill, reports Jane Connolly.
As part of a drive to make cryptocurrency payments an everyday option for individuals and businesses, crypto exchange platform, Cointree, and artificial intelligence (AI) bill payment solution, Gobbill, have launched a fully regulated “pay any bill with any coin” service.
The partnership will see Cointree offer a fully regulated crypto bill payment service as Gobbill holds an Australian financial services licence (AFSL).
Cointree claims to provide the largest selection of coins to pay bills within the Asia-Pacific region, as well as the market’s lowest fees.
“Using cryptocurrency to pay bills is a feature that our users have requested for some time,” says Jess Renden, operations manager at Cointree. “Our members were looking for an easy and safe way to use cryptocurrency because they recognise the enormous utility for both personal and business transactions.”
She has witnessed crypto being used to pay bills including credit cards, rent, utilities, and more. “We believe that the partnership with Gobbill will enable this, combined with the benefit of reducing fraud to ensure their members’ security,” adds Renden.
Gobbill’s annual payment volumes are on track to double compared with last year’s figures. It is growing rapidly and will be a strategic partner for Cointree as it expands its footprint within the Australian market.
