Tibco acquires data manager Orchestra Networks
Tibco Software, an integration, API management, and analytics firm, has acquired master data management (MDM) solutions provider Orchestra Networks.
Financial details were not disclosed. According to California-based Tibco, this acquisition will extend its Connected Intelligence platform with shared data assets for operational and analytics processes.
As part of the deal it will get Orchestra Networks’ EBX platform – a single solution to manage, govern, and share master data, reference data, and metadata assets. EBX will be added to Tibco’s data management portfolio, including Tibco Data Virtualization and Tibco MDM.
There was no mention of any job cuts due to the acquisition, but Matt Quinn, chief operating officer, Tibco, says that Orchestra Networks “brings an exceptional team that, with Tibco, will continue to support their customers and partners”.
Last year, Tibco agreed to acquire Cisco Data Virtualization (formerly Composite Software). That was its third acquisition in 2017, after announcing plans to acquire both nanoscale.io for its microservices in July, and data science company Statistica in May.
Founded in 1997, Tibco was acquired by Vista Equity Partners in 2014.
