Capital markets software firm Genesis makes $3m funding revelation
In the beginning, London-based capital markets software firm Genesis Global Technology completed its Series A financing round, securing a total of $3 million from Illuminate Financial and Tribeca Angels.
Genesis was founded in 2015 by Stephen Murphy (CEO) and James Harrison (COO). They have both worked at HSBC and Merrill Lynch.
The company spent the past three years building a microservices technology framework designed specifically for the world of capital markets.
It says this technical framework helps clients from buy-side, sell-side, execution venues and clearing houses address the many varied industry challenges. These include meeting regulatory requirements and developing products and solutions.
Murphy says: “Capital markets infrastructure is on the cusp of change, driven by new market and business opportunities, along with increasing regulation and cost. The industry is waking up to the necessity for digitisation.”
The firm explains that its investment roadmap allows it to “collaborate with clients to offer a powerful combination of off-the-shelf and highly customised solutions”.
Some of the solutions it offers include Spectrum (for trade flow analytics), Decipher (for internal quote management, and Enigma (for trade cost analytics).
