Boys from the BlackRock launch investment firm Genuine Impact
Two former BlackRock-ers want to rock the fintech world with the launch of their investment intelligence platform Genuine Impact in the UK.
Truman Du (CEO) and Yuchen Xia (chief commercial officer) have a vision to “narrow the wealth inequality gap” via intelligence and tools.
In the start-up’s view there are about 300 million individual investors globally. It doesn’t offer details but Genuine Impact says it’s developing products that centre around insights, security selection and portfolio management. The firm has just emerged into our realm so these are early days.
Du started his career at BlackRock as an investment analyst focusing on active equity investments in the public markets, in London, 2012. He later joined Investec Asset Management in 2017 for a similar role.
Xia began his career in 2010 as a multi-asset portfolio manager at BlackRock, where he was responsible for managing portfolios across a variety of strategies for the firm’s institutional clients in the EMEA. In November 2015, Xia joined Moneyfarm, a digital investment manager.
Alister Sneddon is COO. He started as a developer and digital marketing consultant in 2008. He also delivered both robo-adviser and stock broker white labels, e.g. AllianzGI by Moneyfarm.
FinTech Futures has contacted Genuine Impact for more details and is waiting for a reply.
