Fidor brings its operating platform to US
Germany-based challenger bank Fidor is bringing its flagship technology, the fidorOS operating platform, to the US, via a distribution agreement with tech development firm GFT Technologies.
Fidor started as a digital bank in 2009 and runs on its own banking platform. The solution is now offered to other banks and financial institutions in Europe, with takers including Penta in Germany and Van Laschot in the Netherlands.
It partnered with GFT in 2016 to support Fidor’s mobile app development and also the o2 banking offering – a white-label bank launched together with German telecom giant, Telefonica.
The US partnership with GFT covers three key areas: sales and marketing, product development, and implementation.
“Fidor’s technology and GFT’s expertise in end-to-end digital transformation will offer banking clients robust accelerators bringing digital offerings to market rapidly and efficiently, comments Scott Johnson, GFT’s head of transformation in North America. “This is especially valuable for small to midsize banks and corporates helping them be more nimble and compete with larger institutions.”
