Instantor unleashes World Domination Starter Kit for APIs
Stockholm-based Instantor has unveiled its World Domination Starter Kit (WDSK) as it opens up its bank API to developers.
The kit may sound like the Machiavellian intentions of a suave Bond villain, but in fact the firm’s plan are pure and non-criminal. It simply wants to get more start-ups and scale-ups onboard.
According to Instantor, by using the bank API developers will have access to transactional data from over 300 banks in 25 countries, with the potential to reach half a billion people.
The WDSK initiative includes access to several unnamed markets outside new open banking legislation. The authentication and the end user’s interaction with banks are handled by Instantor, and the data can be accessed once the end user has given their consent.
Helene Westerlund, CTO of Instantor, says: “We are experts in interpreting data, and we want to give start-ups an opportunity and empower them to build and launch consumer-friendly products quickly. As the price of data diminishes, there is now a real tangible opportunity to start making intelligent products on top of the data.”
The WDSK can be accessed for free to new Instantor customers, until 31 December 2018.
The company offers some neat ideas that Instantor’s API could be used for – such as helping people in Brazil to better manage their finances; or creating an app to help people find the cheapest beer in the neighbourhood. The last one is a great concept. Cheers!
It adds that the best ideas and products built using its API will be published and presented in the first quarter of 2019.
Instantor was founded in 2010 and has offices in Stockholm; Zagreb, Croatia; and Malaga, Spain; and employees a team of 50+.
