Halyk Bank Georgia in e-banking tech revamp with Asseco
Halyk Bank Georgia, a subsidiary of Kazakhstan’s major financial services player, Halyk Bank, has completed the first phase of its e-banking revamp. The bank implemented a new omnichannel system, Asseco Customer Banking Platform, which is now live for retail clients
The second phase will involve the roll-out to the bank’s corporate client base.
The new digital banking solution interfaces to the bank’s core banking system, CBS, supplied by regional vendor Colvir Software Solutions, the UFC card processing centre and the UCC payment system.
According to Asseco, online customers now have full information on their accounts, cards, deposits and loans, and can register new accounts and apply for new banking products with preliminary profit and loss calculation. The vendor adds that functionality also includes a broad range of payment operations, including utilities and other services payment, taxes, fees and other state duties.
Shota Chkoidze, deputy CEO, Halyk Bank Georgia, comments that the digitisation of financial services channels is “the key factor” in the bank’s development.
Asseco is a Polish company with operations mainly across Central and Eastern Europe, plus Israel. Zbigniew Pomianek, VP of the management board of Asseco Poland, says the project with Halyk Bank Georgia is “a good example of Polish IT products being appreciated in Georgia”.
Meanwhile, the bank’s parent in Kazakhstan opted for a different omnichannel solution, supplied by Dutch tech vendor Backbase, for its new digital banking subsidiary, Altyn-i.
