Finastra sittin’ on the dock of the Bahrain FinTech Bay
Finastra has joined Bahrain FinTech Bay as it hunts for opportunities with financial institutions, banks and investors.
Wissam Khoury, MD for the Middle East and Africa at Finastra, says: “Now couldn’t be a better time to be part of this community as the Bahrain fintech scene heats up. Working with Bahrain FinTech Bay will allow us to further collaborate with local fintechs and banks, as the financial services landscape moves towards an open banking architecture.”
The vendor will also look to get some love and attention for its FusionFabric.cloud platform.
It’s not a bad idea. You may recall that earlier this month, Temenos got all warm and snuggly with The Venture Lab at The American University in Cairo (AUC Venture Lab). The plan was to work with start-ups in Egypt and get more users onboard for its T24 core banking system.
Anyway, through this membership, Finastra says it will have access to industry events and Bahrain FinTech Bay’s own events on blockchain, insurtech and regtech. The company will also become a resident of Bahrain FinTech Bay.
Bahrain FinTech Bay was established earlier this year and currently counts over 50 partners, including banks, corporates, government bodies, universities and fintechs.
By the way, back in January, there was a look at growth, wealth and modernisation for fintech innovation in the MENA region.
