VTB Bank in Armenia updates mobile and online services
VTB Bank in Armenia, with the support of eKassir, launched its mobile banking services and upgraded its internet banking, on what the bank calls the remote RBS (remote banking services) digital banking platform.
The platform gives customers access to a range of functions for managing accounts, transferring funds, paying for services, exchanging currencies etc.
The implemented platform is localised and is available in three languages: Armenian, Russian and English, and implements complex multicurrency operations.
Mobile apps support a various authorisation scenarios, including user fingerprint recognition and face recognition technology on the smartphone.
“Remote banking channels today are not just a trend in banking services, but a necessary condition for building a service,” comments Ivan Telegin, director general-chairman of the directorate at the bank.
The bank says it saw about 20,000 customers registering to the new service in six months – not a huge number. Only 7% of transactions took place through mobile channels, 35% of which took place outside of the bank’s working hours.
Telegin also says the bank would add functionalities such as “transfers from card to card” and “showing the real balance of cards” throughout 2018.
VTB is a Russian banking group that operates in the country and neighbouring nations.
