Crown Agents Bank’s new platform empowers online FX trading
UK-based Crown Agents Bank (CAB) has launched a new online foreign exchange (FX) trading platform – EMpowerFX – offering access to prices on emerging market and major traded currencies.
“Our OECD-based clients depend on our ability to offer a diverse range of hard-to-find and illiquid currencies, from the Belize dollar and Ethiopian birr, to the Nepalese rupee, XAF, XOF and the Zambian kwacha,” says Chris Wilgoss, treasurer at Crown Agents Bank.
He adds that EMpowerFX offers access to quotes on over 500 currency pairs. In addition to its API capabilities, features of the web-based service include real-time streaming access to “competitive market pricing” and “immediate tailored request-for quotation (RFQ) facilities”. Insights on trades and deals are available in historical trade blotters.
CAB is a London-based, UK-regulated wholesale transaction bank provider of emerging market and G10 foreign exchange, international payments, cash management, cross-border pensions and payroll, trade finance and investment management services (via its sister company, Crown Agents Investment Management(CAIM)).
The bank says it was originally established by the British Crown, and can trace its roots back to 1749, and has provided banking services from its London base since 1833.
