Earthport brings Swiss banks Swift cross-border payments
Earthport, a cross-border payments service provider, has been appointed by Swiss Euro Clearing Bank (SECB), a clearing hub for Swiss banks, to provide Swift processing services.
Banking Technology, Paybefore‘s sister publication, reports.
The new contract with Earthport will enable SECB to “enhance” its cross-border payment capabilities. The partnership according to SECB is said to also further increase its processing efficiency and add “greater value” to its customers.
Headquartered in Frankfurt, Germany, SECB processes euro transactions for banks and other businesses domiciled in Switzerland.
Hank Uberoi, CEO, Earthport, says: “We are committed to developing our presence in Germany, Europe’s largest economy, and to bringing the efficiency, security and transparency of the Earthport payment network to businesses in the region.”
Network growth
As previously reported back in 2016, Earthport announced it had partnered with Aftab Currency Exchange Limited (ACEL) and joined forces with Ria Money Transfer.
As a result, ACEL now has access to Earthport’s capabilities to “strengthen” its EU offering and access to its suite of payment methods in over 60 countries.
While for Ria Money Transfer, it was an opportunity to team with Earthpoint for shared access to a global payment network, complementing Ria’s existing bank deposit services.
