Autosoft Dynamics gains first core banking system deal in Afghanistan
National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) has picked a core banking system and vendor for its operations in Afghanistan – Autosoft Dynamics and its flagship Autobanker offering.
Pakistan-based Autosoft is already a long-standing supplier of Autobanker to NBP for the bank’s domestic operations, but says its solution was chosen for the new project in a competitive tender.
Other contenders for the contract were: Colvir Software Solutions, Craft Silicon, ICS Financial Systems, Oracle FSS and Virmati.
This is the first known core banking software deal for Autosoft in Afghanistan.
Autobanker will support core processing, corporate and consumer financing, trade services, treasury management, and RTGS STP integration with Da Afghanistan Bank, the country’s central bank and regulator, at NBP Afghanistan.
Autosoft says its team “is currently preparing to depart to NBP Afghanistan for implementation and deployment activities”.
The vendor emphasises it has “a strong implementation track record, completing complex implementations successfully and migrating full-fledged banks in seemingly impossible timeframes”.
It is determined to make this project a success that “will pave the way forward in other financial institutions in the country”.
