Santander International in digital banking revamp
EXCLUSIVE: Santander International is embarking on a tech project to modernise its online and mobile delivery channels.
The bank offers banking and savings accounts to Channel Island and Isle of Man residents, UK expats and UK residents who have international banking needs. It also provides corporate banking to Channel Island and Isle of Man domiciled companies and mortgages to Isle of Man residents.
Two vendors are vying for the deal, Banking Technology understands. These are Infosys with Finacle and Tememos with Temenos Connect.
The new solution will support front-end operations of Santander International and will interface to the legacy back office systems, Finastra’s Equation and Sopra Banking Software‘s MSS (for mortgages and savings).
It is likely that the legacy core banking solutions will, too, be replaced in due course.
Infosys has been popular at Santander recently, winning a corporate core banking tech deal with the bank in the UK and making it to the final of the system selection at Openbank, Santander’s digital banking subsidiary in Spain.
Meanwhile, Temenos is already supplying its T24 core banking system across a number of the group’s locations, including in Switzerland, Mexico and the Bahamas, to Banking Technology‘s knowledge.
Also, last year Temenos landed a deal to implement T24 at Santander’s private banking subsidiary in the UK, Cater Allen Private Bank, although the progress of this venture is unclear.
