Danske Bank launches open banking beta
Copenhagen-based Danske Bank has unveiled its beta open banking service as it joins the fray for API-powered innovation.
The bank says open banking is set to be the “most seismic shift in financial services since online banking” and it wants to tap into this market.
Danske is looking to push on from its own banking API, which is the result of its learnings developing MobilePay, Sunday (a range of home purchase products) and digital investment platform June.
Its plans are vague at the moment, but it says in the future people will be able to use its banking APIs to build products and services throughout the Nordics, UK and Euro zone. It will offer the usual stuff – a sandbox environment to test API integrations with the apps and community support.
According to Danske, its hub community includes a network of over 2,000 Nordic start-ups and 200 investors and expert advisors.
On its website, people can now sign up for early access.
