Moroku’s Marrakash makes a splash with POS software deal
German payments company AEVI and Australian software firm Moroku have teamed up to offer POS software in AEVI’s B2B app store.
Called Marrakash, Moroku’s software is for small retail and hospitality merchants that integrates their business, products, customers and payment systems into one platform. Moroku says it lets firms run their business “entirely from a single SmartPOS device”.
The partnership will use AEVI’s solutions and infrastructure to target various markets, including the hospitality, food and drink, retail and financial service industries.
Colin Weir, Moroku CEO, says: “Now is the time to scale our solution, and we believe our partnership with AEVI provides us with the perfect platform to do just that.”
According to Moroku, Marrakash is already in operation with merchants in Australia, India, North America and the UK. Businesses using it can display a product catalogue, create bespoke customer loyalty schemes and take card payments on the go. Via AEVI’s marketplace, vendors can download and add the app to their SmartPOS device.
Based in Sydney, Moroku offers banking and payment services through gamification. As reported in March, Misys announced it was introducing gamification capabilities into its FusionBanking Essence Digital platform with Moroku’s GameSystem (also known as Gameo).
AEVI is a subsidiary company of Diebold Nixdorf and is headquartered in Germany with operations in the UK and the Czech Republic.
