Valiant Bank chooses Backbase for digital banking overhaul
Switzerland’s Valiant Bank has selected the Backbase Omnichannel Banking Platform for its banking systems upgrade.
The platform will help the bank drive “customer engagement” and “increase manageability across its different channels”.
Matthias Häfner, head of digital banking at Valiant, says it chose Backbase “due to its expertise in providing a single omnichannel platform, which will enable us to streamline customer journeys across devices and channels”.
According to Backbase, Valiant was the first bank in Switzerland to open a new type of branch that combines personal advice and digital services. It was also the first to offer full online account opening and credit card applications.
Valiant is an independent bank for retail clients and SMEs in Switzerland serving around 380,000 customers across 85 branches and digital channels.
Canada and Cyprus
Backbase enjoyed a good 2016, and this year it has secured a couple of other noteworthy deals.
Central 1 Credit Union, a software and services provider to 300 financial institutions in Canada, will overhaul its MemberDirect digital banking platform with Backbase’s tech.
Hellenic Bank, the second largest bank in Cyprus, chose the Backbase Omnichannel Banking Platform for its banking systems upgrade.
