Swift brings Innotribe start-up challenge to Russia and CIS countries
Swift Innotribe has partnered with the Russian National Swift Member and User Group (Rosswift) comprising the Bank of Russia, the National Settlement Depository, Sberbank, and Alfa-Bank, to launch its first start-up challenge in the region.
Applications will be accepted from fintech companies based in Russia and the neighbouring CIS countries who are working on payments, securities, trading, social media tools, big data/data analytics, security, identity, B2B or B2B2C mobile, small business apps and services and other IT infrastructure projects. To be eligible, companies must also have a beta or demo version of their product ready for review.
Ten of the best start-up submissions will be selected to enter the start-up challenge programme. These companies will have a chance to be mentored by senior industry professionals before showcasing their products at the XXVI International Financial Congress hosted by the Central Bank of Russia, in St Petersburg, on 12-14 July 2017.
The best three start-ups at the event will be nominated to participate at Sibos, Swift’s annual global conference, which will be held in Toronto, Canada, on 16-19 October 2017. They will also receive a cash prize of €10,000 each.
Applications to this year’s Innotribe Startup Challenge will be accepted until mid-May 2017, and the ten start-ups chosen for the programme will be announced in later than month. Click here to apply.
The programme for Russia, similar to the one that Swift Innotribe is running in Africa, was first mentioned by Fabian Vandenreyd, global head of securities markets, Innotribe and the Swift Institute, in his interview to Banking Technology last year.
