Banque de France to modernise payments tech with Sopra Banking Software
Banque de France in major tech overhaul
Banque de France’s banking services department has embarked on a major technology overhaul programme. It will work with a domestic software provider on this project, Sopra Banking Software, which is part of the Sopra Steria group.
Banque de France will migrate its retail payments processing operations onto Sopra’s tech. These comprise non-cash payment orders (SEPA transfers and direct debits, cheques and commercial bills) in euros, exchangeable on payment and clearing systems.
Banque de France’s retail payments activity, for exchange and clearing, is pooled with la Caisse des Dépôts et Consignation within the “Victoires Paiements” Economic Interest Group.
