Infographics: the fintech landscape
It’s infographics time! A great compilation of fintech companies, showing how we’ve gone from graph paper to personal data algorithms – and everything in between.
The infographics – courtesy of Choice Loans – details the growth in the area over the last decades (and includes some of the major fintech companies from before that, like SagePay and Xoom, both founded in 2001). It splits the developing companies across their different specialisations, such as:
- Accounting – e.g. Xero, a Software-as-a-service company from New Zealand;
- Crowdfunding – e.g. Kickstarter and Patreon;
- Investment specialists – e.g. Nutmeg and Xoom;
- Personal finance – e.g. Moven (non-traditional data sources) and Squirrel (savings assistance).
The total list now stands at over 200, from online payment goliath PayPal through to 2016’s digital mortgage broker Habito and global money app Revolut.
