First National Bank modernises digital banking with Ubanquity
Ireland-based Ubanquity Systems has signed First National Bank (FNB) in Lebanon for its digital banking software. It will “integrate wonderfully” with the bank’s existing systems, the vendor says.
With a new digital banking platform in place, “FNB’s customers will benefit from account management, personal finance tools and real-time alerts on mobile and internet banking channels”, Ubanquity says.
FNB is an established player in the country and has been on a technology modernisation journey for a few years now. In 2012, it embarked on a core banking software replacement project with a domestic vendor BML Istisharat. The bank implemented its ICBS core banking system – replacing Misys’ Equation and Path Solutions’ iMAL, Banking Technology understands.
Ubanquity is itself well established in Lebanon – it has been here for nearly a decade. Its customers include Jammal Trust Bank, Société Générale de Banque au Liban (SGBL) and Bank al Etihad.
Elsewhere in the region, Ubanquity works with The National Bank in Palestine and Jordan Ahli Bank.
