Indopay and ACI Worldwide team up for international e-commerce platform
PT Indopay Merchant Services, a subsidiary of Indonesia’s banking solutions provider PT Abhimata Persada, has teamed up with ACI Worldwide for the latter’s UP eCommerce Payments solution.
Indopay is keen to grow its share of the domestic market and also expand across Asia – and ACI’s platform will underpin the strategy.
The Indonesian eCommerce marketplace is already the second largest in Asia, and is growing at an annual rate of more than 33%.
The Indonesian merchants using Indopay’s new platform will be able to leverage ACI’s global network of 350+ alternative payment methods and acquirers in over 160 countries – the most extensive global network of payment connections in the market, according to Indopay.
Darwin Sariaatmadja, CEO of Indopay, comments that ACI and Abhimata Persada have a long-standing relationship around e-payments and fraud prevention solutions to banks and merchants in Indonesia. The new project will enable merchants “to take advantage of the exploding demand for online and mobile shopping services”, he adds. Converting online shoppers into customers will be “simple and secure” with ACI’s platform.
Indopay was set up in 2005. It works with major banks in Indonesia, including BNI, Bank Danamon and Bank Mega. It also has a partnership with UnionPay.
