Swift to launch new cloud-based learning platform, SwiftSmart
The new e-learning platform will administrate, document, track, report and deliver a broad catalogue of digital courses and social learning. It is an interactive, cloud-based service.
To start with, SwiftSmart will support a subset of Swift’s existing training portfolio, which consists of 100+ courses. The full portfolio will be available by 2017.
The initiative is set to “encourage peer interaction across the Swift community”, says Swift.
There will be a single sign-on for all swift.com account holders and it will be available from any secure internet connection. It can also be configured to adapt to different user profiles, behaviours and requirements, Swift says.
Swift’s consulting services unit will offer customised training programmes based on SwiftSmart.
“Education best practices have significantly evolved over the last 30 years,” says Dana Brants, head of services at Swift. “Today, over 40% of fortune 500 companies are using some form of educational technology.” She feels that Swift is “in a great place to revolutionise its training programme, offering a more digital and interactive approach.”
Banks such as Citi and Byblos have already pledged commitment to the SwiftSmart initiative.
“With varying degrees of Swift expertise within our institution, the modular approach to SwiftSmart is a great asset,” comments Paul Chammas, head of group operations division at Byblos Bank.
Meanwhile, for Helen Nazzaro, Citi’s director, Swift relationship management, a significant benefit is “the flexibility to train more staff globally at a pace that supports business requirements, while reducing traveling costs”.
