People on the Move: Brent Almeida, WaveCrest Group
Wave Crest Group has appointed Brent Almeida CEO. He has taken on several executive responsibilities since joining the global digital payments provider in 2010, including chief financial officer and chief operating officer. Almeida previously worked at GTECH, a provider of gaming solutions and lottery transaction processing, where his responsibilities included M&A; corporate finance; and planning, evaluation and operational oversight of acquired companies. He played a key role in forming the company’s commercial services business, and the acquisition of PolCard, a payment card issuer and acquirer in Poland.
