People on the Move: Alpesh Chokshi, Visa
Alpesh Chokshi has been named head of national accounts at Visa. He is responsible for leading Visa’s relationships with the largest U.S. financial institutions, spanning credit, debit, commercial and prepaid products. Chokshi previously was president of international payment options at American Express, where he led the card network’s global alternative payments, mobile banking and prepaid businesses. He led the creation and launch of Bluebird, a financial inclusion mobile banking product, in partnership with Walmart. Chokshi expanded the scale and scope of the American Express prepaid franchise in the U.S. with major partnerships, such as Target, Walgreens and CVS, and internationally in more than seven markets. Chokshi also spent eight years as a founding partner and member of the board at Mitchell Madison Group, a strategy consulting firm.
