People on the Move: Eileen Burbidge, Tech City UK
Eileen Burbidge, founding partner at venture capital firm Passion Capital, has been appointed the chair of Tech City UK, a publicly funded, nonprofit group launched in 2010 by U.K. Prime Minister David Cameron to support the East London tech cluster known as Silicon Roundabout. The group has since grown to support Greater London and other cities around the U.K. Burbidge will be working closely with CEO Gerard Grech to define and develop the long-term vision of Tech City UK. She also will chair the newly formed entrepreneur advisory panel.
Other new additions to the Tech City board include: Robin Klein, founding partner at the LocalGlobe fund; Tim Luke, vice president of technology, media and telecoms at Barclays U.K.; Wendy Tan-White, co-founder and former CEO of Website builder Moonfruit; and Yonca Brunini, vice president of marketing at Google for Europe, Middle East and Africa.
