People on the Move: Martin Wheatley, Financial Conduct Authority
The U.K.’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has announced that Martin Wheatley is stepping down as CEO, effective Sept. 12, 2015. He will continue to act as an adviser to the FCA board until Jan. 31, 2016, with a particular emphasis on the implementation of the Fair and Effective Markets Review, which he co-chaired. Wheatley joined the FCA in 2011 as the managing director of the conduct business unit. He previously served as CEO of Hong Kong’s Securities and Futures Commission. He also was deputy chief executive of the London Stock Exchange Group plc.
