Liquidnet beefs up European algo sales team
Global institutional trading network Liquidnet has hired Chris Jackson (right) as European head of its Execution and Quantitative Services group. This new role will involve setting the strategic direction of the European trading desk and Algorithmic Services Group, as well as heading the sales effort for Liquidnet’s global algorithmic offering with European clients.
Jackson joins from Citi where he was head of execution sales, EMEA. Prior to Citi, he spent 12 years at Merrill Lynch most latterly as head of sales across program, transitions and electronic trading. He started his career at SBC Warburg in 1995, where for two years he worked in the EMEA portfolio sales and sales trading team.
Over the course of the last year, Liquidnet has been building its EQS team, including the appointment in July of New York-based Rob Laible as head of its global performance team, the role of which is to further expand Liquidnet’s offering, including designing, implementing, and customising its suite of execution algorithms and analytics.
Liquidnet’s network includes nearly 780 international asset managers, who use its services to source diverse liquidity and satisfy best execution objectives.
