Russian firm streamlines customs payments with BPC systems
Russian online customs specialist Multiservice Payment System has started using a new system designed by Swiss developer BPC Banking Technologies, that promises to make customs easier by combining a web portal with an e-declaration service via POS terminal.
BPC used a system called SmartVisa, which powered the payments. MPS has a customs card called Payhd, which is designed for importers and exporters. The idea was to help the Russian firm streamline the processing with bank-acquirers, making it easier to launch new services. MPS has said that it was able to reduce costs and workloads on customs offices, partly because the BPC service is available 24/7.
“Due to BPC Banking Technologies’ expertise and focus we were able to complete this complex and vital project in such a short period of time,” said Sergey Sovdagarov, general manager at MPS. “As trade is a key engine of growth for the Russian economy it is vitally important that we are able to offer a wide range of services and payments for all types of importers and exporters. With SmartVista that’s exactly what we are able to do. We are looking forward to continuing our partnership with BPC as there are many more products that we plan to bring to the Russian market.”
