Staff get cyber checked with Willis Towers Watson diagnostic tool
Here’s a twist on the usual cybersecurity stuff. Advisory firm Willis Towers Watson has launched a new diagnostic tool designed to assess people’s cyber readiness.
The firm says its tool can be used to “recruit, lead and engage a more cyber-savvy workforce”. It reckons that roles in cybersecurity are “some of the most in-demand across all industries”; and so it looks to profit by helping other firms who are recruiting for cyber positions.
Tracey Malcolm, Willis Towers Watson future of work leader, says: “When it comes to corporate cybersecurity needs, organisations must give more focus to the people element of cyber risk, particularly within IT functions where vulnerabilities can exist if the right skills and talent are not managing the day-to-day technology.”
With the launch of the tool, CISOs, and cybersecurity leads with HR, can participate in a workshop series to assess levels of work and organisational needs across their company. This includes a workforce review to assess requisite skills and identifying talent gaps.
Willis Towers Watson says it has roots dating to 1828, and has 40,000 employees serving more than 140 countries.

There is certainly no shortage of other recent cybersecurity stories in our fintech world.
A few days ago, IBM unveiled IBM Z, a new transaction system, capable of running more than 12 billion encrypted transactions per day and designed to address data breaches.
IT services corporation Atos had a similar idea with the launch of the “world’s first commercially available” machine-system capable of simulating up to 40 quantum bits (Qubits).
Also in July, a UN report revealed global cybersecurity holes. Handy infographics are included in that report.
