CYBG in exclusive partnership with Mastercard
Mastercard and Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks (CYBG) have unveiled a seven-year agreement that allows for all CYBG debit, credit and commercial cards to use the Mastercard network.
According to the two organisations, the agreement will offer additional payment solutions, protect customers against fraud, and create a better banking experience for customers. CYBG says all cards issued by its three brands – Clydesdale Bank, Yorkshire Bank and B – will use the Mastercard network exclusively.
Earlier this year, another UK bank, TSB, opted to go exclusively with Mastercard for its debit cards for current account holders.
CYBG offers retail and business banking, with a full branch, telephone, online and mobile service. With its initial public offering (IPO), CYBG says it has invested heavily in its digital banking services.
Its B brand was launched in 2016 – a digital banking service that uses a smart app to help customers manage their money. It has over 100,000 customers.
CYBG also set up its own innovation lab earlier this year, called Studio B, on Kensington High Street in London.
