Speed through the checkout with Pay with Google
Speed through the checkout on your Android device with Pay with Google, the latest payment API from Google.
Previously revealed in May 2017 at Google’s I/O event, the Google payment API will allow users to make verified credit or debit card purchases using their android device without the need for additional details.
As long as the user’s card is registered, payments can be made by entering a security code or by authentication from the device – cutting out the process of having to input details during checkout.
So far, Pay with Google will work a handful of services including Dice in the UK, Kayak in the US, and iFood in Brazil. However, that’s only the start with more companies coming onboard soon, including Just Eat, Dilveroo, Airbnb and Hotel Tonight.
Google says it won’t be charging for transaction fees.
It is also opening the option for developers to integrate its Google Payment API “with a few lines of code”.
